Reason for activity:

The customer came to Birch Solutions seeking an experienced anaerobic digestion project delivery company to resolve key issues affecting the performance of their plant, which included loss of digester performance, increased operational costs and tank corrosion.

How we helped:

Following a detailed evaluation of the site and generation of an improvement plan with the customer, we undertook the project to deliver the complete refurbishment of the 4,000m³ digester on the site.

Elements of the work included:

Development of project plan and associated project and safety documentation
Safe de-commissioning for the plant prior to starting refurbishment work
Removal of the bio-dome and de-sulphisation net
Emptying and de-gritting of the digester
Replacement of top digester panels and application of protective coating
Refurbishment of mixing and feed systems
Start up and re-commissioning support
