LEADING anaerobic digestion and CHP expert Birch Solutions is continuing its rapid expansion with the appointment of six new members of staff.
The business, based at Barnetby in North Lincolnshire, has recruitment Glenn Carney as Head of Sales, Simon Blades as Head of Operations, Alistair Carlton as Supply Chain Manager, Rick Laverick as AD Lead Field Service Engineer, John Youell as a Field Service Engineer and Lewis Hobbin as Field Service Technician.
The intake comes after recent appointments in the company’s sales division led to the securing of several AD plant and CHP engine service and maintenance contracts.
The company’s rapid growth has also led to strategic partnerships with global biowaste to bioenergy specialists, Netherland-based HoSt Bioenergy Systems, and Bright Biomethane, experts in biogas plant upgrades, also based in the Netherlands.
Mark Sacker, Managing Director of Birch Solutions, said the appointments represented the evolution of the business from a regional AD plant service, maintenance, and operations company to a UK leader in the AD and CHP industry.
He said: “We set our stall out earlier this year to take the business to the next level, and these most recent appointments are the culmination of all that work.
“We made some excellent appointments to the team earlier this year in the form of Steve Willetts and Nigel Thompson, and they have helped to drive the business forward and secure some fantastic contracts.
“As a result, we have needed to recruit engineers and technicians to deliver on those projects, as well as other senior appointments who will help take the business on to even bigger and better things next year.”
Glenn Carney is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer who brings more than 30 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry to Birch Solutions, as well as five years in the renewables sector.
He has previously worked for Rolls-Royce (Energy), British Aerospace, Dresser Rand, Peter Brotherhood, and Massey Ferguson.
Simon Blades spent more than five years as AD Manager at Beeswax Dyson Farming Ltd, the farming enterprise of leading UK entrepreneur Sir James Dyson.
Alistair Carlton has more than 28 years of experience in the automotive sector, including extensive experience in operations and supply chain management positions.
Mr Sacker added that the appointments, including the engineers, bring a wealth of experience to the business to create a winning team.
“Many of the people we now have in the business have been hand-picked for their experience and achievements in the industry,” he said.
“With these latest appointments now in role, we are in a great position to grow significant market share in 2022.”
